Stephen's Link's Page

Many of my links are on the pages targeting a specific interest. (ie, Delphi links are on the Delphi page. This page holds the rest. If you are looking for something else, you may wish to use my search page.

Miscellaneous Links
* lockerlink.gif Lockergnome is a free E-zine (Email-Magazine) which will help you keep up with the quickly changing internet world. I can't say enough about it. And I bet the other 135,000 people reading it are happy with Lockergnome too! Available in Daily and Weekly versions.
* UGeek - The online resource for geeks. Visit and join their mailing list right now. And while you are there, bookmark the site. There is too much there to get it all in one sitting, and they update regularly.
* SlashDot - News For Nerds.
* BattleMaster - A wonderful online game. It's a combination strategy and role-playing game. It's also designed to be light-weight, so that players who only spend 30 minutes or an hour a day can do well. (With the exception of people in leadership positions, there is no reason or advantage in an average player spending hours a day on it. You log in, read your msgs, enter your orders for that turn, and log off. There are two turns a day, and it's best if you can enter orders once during each of them - but that doesn't take long, each turn is 12 hours long, and it doesn't matter whether you enter your orders early, midway, or late in the turn.) I've been having a wonderful time there.
* Liszt, the mailing list directory. If you are looking for a mailing list on any given subject, this site will help you find it. (For those of you who do not know, mailing lists are discussion groups where a given topic is discussed, which take place via Email. They tend to have a much higher signal/noise ration than the usenet newsgroups.)
* The Web Developer's Virtual Library. They bill themselves as "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Web Technology". In fact, it's one of the best sites for learning HTML or related subjects.
* WebPageomatic is a tool that will let anyone create a website. No knowledge of HTML is required.
* WebWeaver has a number of free resources for webmasters. Clipart, search engine submissions, links to other resources, and more.
* Imagiware's HTNL Toolchest has an HTML validator, an HTML "squisher" (to make your code smaller), an HTML reformater, and links to other sources.
* BigBook.com works as an online yellow pages. You can search by category, city/state, company name, etc.
* Karen's Koncepts. "Jack Of All Site's". Karen has done a great job. She has sections on Anti-Telemarketing, Household Hints, Web Graphics, Win/95, Sports, Music, Magazines Online, Genealogy, and more. And if you've got kids, make sure they see her Kid's Page!
* Cyberspace Law links, from the John Marshall Law School. Maybe it's just me, but I find much of this very interesting. Legal information on any cyberspace related topic, such as UCE/Spam, Free Speech, Anonymity, Copyright, and Domain Name disputes.
* Ken's Computer Law Resources. Another good place to find legal information.
* Whitis Family Genealogy page.
* I'm part of the Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search. This is a joint effort which harnesses the power of thousands of small computers (mostly Win95 or WinNT based machines) to solve the problem of finding HUGE prime numbers. Your computers idle time can be put to good use here! This site will appeal more to geeks than non-geeks, but anyone can easily take part.
* WhatIs?com. An online dictionary or computer related terms and phrases. A useful tool.
* Learn2.com. "The Ability Utility". They have lessons and discussion groups on a wide variety of topics. For instance, you can learn to: Fix a faucet, juggle, Housebreak a puppy or perform the Heimlich maneuver.
* The Internet Movie Database will allow you to search based on a movie or TV title, by actor/actress, by the name of one of the characters, etc. Check it out!
* Bartlett's Quotations. A searchable index of well known quotes.
* Techno-Kids home page. A science and technology store for all ages, based in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
* Eliza home page. Eliza is the best known 'AI' program in the world. Several versions can be downloaded here.
* The Mos Eisley Multiplex is for Star Wars fans. I didn't realize it, but many people have created Star Wars spoof films, which you can DL online. My favorite was the MacBeth version. :^)
* SharkyDarts.com. Sharky's has been a dart pub for over 20 years, located on Upper Greenville in Dallas.

Game Design/Development Links
* Amit's Game Programmer Information Includes algorithms and information for game design and programming. Shortest path, line-of-sight, and other algorithms, in addition to standard Artificial Intelligence information.
* Game Programming Resources is a very nice link list to sites with info about game design, artificial intelligence, and related algorithms. (Site down on 10/16/98, and will be removed if it is still down on my next link check.)
* Woody's TW2002 (Tradewars) Web/FTP Site. I don't play anymore. I haven't in years. But this was the best file-transfer site several years ago, and still seems to be today. I learned a number of things about game design while writing TW utilities. (I've seen this site up and down quite often. If it isn't available when you try it, try again later.)
For google, to help fix their search for the term jew.

Financial Information Links
* The Motley Fool. Investment information for individuals. Highly recommended.
* Putnam Investments.
* Investing For Kids.
